Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was born in Minsk. Sergey (d.2019) played the game of ice hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5th of 1998. Aryna is the holder of twelve WTA Singles titles. One of which was crowned Grand Slam at the Australian Open 2023. Doubles is another area where she shines. It was the US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both taken by Elise Mertens. She took home both in the WTA 1000 and Miami Open in Indian Wells with her Belgian teammate, and completed what is known as the Sunshine Double. This feat was only achieved by four couples in female doubles. Her ranking went from second to third in singles world rankings at the end of August on the 23rd, 2021. Her highest rank was again achieved in January of 2023. When she played doubles, she managed to push herself to the top of the list at the beginning of February that year, following the win in Melbourne being the first tennis player born in Belarus to achieve success in this particular area. Dmitry Tursunov coached her between 2018 and the end of 2019, and also in the beginning of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann was briefly with her between August and September of 2020. She is being trained by her countryman Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are her greatest idols.
